A tourist speedboat capsized in rough seas near Hon May Rut Ngoai, an island approximately 10 kilometers south of Phu Quoc, Vietnam's largest island, resulting in 15 fatalities. Local media reported that 21 individuals were rescued from the incident.

Authorities are working to confirm the exact number of casualties and survivors. Nguyen Tien Hai, a senior official in the area, indicated that the speedboat may have capsized due to heavy winds and high waves. He stated that the immediate priority is rescue operations, bringing all victims ashore, and providing emergency care to those still alive.

The Indian embassy in Vietnam confirmed that 32 Indian nationals were on board the capsized boat. The embassy has established telephone hotlines to offer information and assistance to affected families.
