Triplet Siberian tiger cubs sought relief from a severe heatwave in China by taking cooling baths at the Yangzhou Zoo.
The cubs, a mix of one male and two females born on May 20, were observed playing in shallow water in their enclosure. This behavior comes as temperatures in Jiangsu Province have exceeded 38 degrees Celsius (100.4 degrees Fahrenheit) with high humidity, contributing to a prolonged period of extreme heat across the region.
Siberian tigers are considered an endangered species, with estimates suggesting only 500 to 600 individuals remain in the wild. The cubs at Yangzhou Zoo have attracted significant attention from visitors.
A zookeeper was seen assisting one of the young tigers in cooling down, highlighting the efforts to manage the animals' comfort during the intense heat. The cubs, now approximately two months old, were born earlier in the year and have been a notable attraction at the zoo.
