Three teenage boys have been charged with multiple offenses in connection with an alleged sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl in Sydney's south-west. The incident reportedly took place at a home in the Macarthur region on August 15.
NSW Police arrested the three 17-year-old males on Wednesday morning. One youth faces 11 charges, including six counts of aggravated sexual assault in the company of others and three counts of sexual intercourse without consent. Other charges against him include sexually touching another person without consent and carrying out a sexual act with another without consent.
A second teenager was charged with eight offenses, including six counts of aggravated sexual assault in the company of others and sexual intercourse without consent. The third youth has been charged with two counts of aggravated sex assault-offender in company with others.
All three were refused bail and were scheduled to appear before a children's court on August 19.
Police stated that an investigation began on August 16 after they received a report of the alleged sexual assault. Search warrants were executed at several homes in the Macarthur Region, and electronic devices and other items were seized for examination.
This case follows a separate incident reported the previous week, where three teenage boys were charged in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in Bondi Junction. In that incident, two boys, aged 13 and 14, were each charged with aggravated sexual assault in company and two counts of aggravated sexual touching. A third 14-year-old was charged with aggravated sexual assault in company and aggravated sexual touching. Those three teenagers remain on bail and were due to face a children's court on August 25.
