Three Sisters Died by Suicide in Brighton Sea, Inquest Finds

A senior coroner has ruled that three sisters, whose bodies were recovered from the sea off Brighton on May 13, intentionally took their own lives. The sisters, identified as Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walters, 32, and Rebecca Walters, 31, had been living together in Greenford, London.

According to Senior Coroner Penelope Schofield, the women entered the water off Brighton beach under adverse sea conditions and were unable to swim. The motive behind their decision remains unknown, and Schofield stated that it may never be definitively understood why they chose Brighton for this purpose.

Two days prior to their deaths, the sisters visited an area in Birmingham near where their mother had drowned in a lake several years earlier. Following this visit, they traveled to Brighton.

The inquest concluded that the women had intended to end their lives. The specific circumstances and reasons leading to their deaths are still being processed, and further details may emerge.
