Emergency services responded to an incident at the Maltby Crags Fair in Rotherham on Friday evening, where a fairground ride malfunctioned, resulting in injuries to two children and a woman.

Authorities confirmed that an 11-year-old and a 13-year-old, along with a 21-year-old woman, were transported to the hospital for treatment. The fairground was closed for the remainder of the evening following the incident.

Reports from social media suggest that a car detached from the ride's track and collided with another car. A local witness described the event, stating that a car came off the track and another crashed into it, leading to several people falling from the ride.

The Maltby Crags Fair, operated by J Holmes & Sons, had been running since Wednesday, September 9. Information regarding its reopening is not yet available. The specific ride that malfunctioned has not been identified.

South Yorkshire Police were in attendance, with multiple police vehicles visible at the scene. The Air Ambulance was also called to provide support. Blyth Lane was temporarily closed to facilitate the safe exit of fairgoers but has since been reopened.
