Three Guilty in Murder of Australian Brothers and American Friend in Mexico
A Mexican court convicted three men of aggravated homicide in the killings of Jake and Callum Robinson and Jack Carter Rhoad at a surf destination.
Three men have been found guilty of murdering two Australian brothers and their American friend at a popular surf spot in Mexico. The verdict was delivered Friday by a judge in Ensenada following a five-week trial.
Jesús Gerardo, known as 'El Kekas,' along with Irineo Francisco and Ángel Jesús, were convicted of aggravated homicide and related offenses. Their full names were withheld for legal reasons.
Australian brothers Jake Robinson, 30, and Callum Robinson, 33, and their American friend Jack Carter Rhoad, 30, were on a surfing trip in Baja California state when they were killed. They had been camping in a remote beachside area in April 2024 and went missing. Their bodies were discovered several days later in a clifftop shaft, having sustained gunshot wounds to their heads.
The parents of the Australian brothers, Debra and Martin Robinson, attended every day of the trial and were present when Judge Raúl Hernández Arellano delivered the decision. They sat near the defendants during closing arguments on Thursday.
