More than 800 barrels of Guinness, totaling an estimated 70,000 pints, were stolen from a depot in Runcorn, Cheshire, on Monday evening. The theft, which occurred in two separate incidents, is valued at approximately £115,000.

Cheshire Police reported that the first trailer load was taken from the Whitehouse Industrial Estate on Aston Lane at approximately 7:45 p.m. BST. A second trailer was stolen from the same location about 1 hour and 45 minutes later, at around 9:30 p.m. BST.

The stolen barrels, each capable of holding around 88 pints, were intended for distribution to pubs. Detective Sergeant McClatchy of Cheshire Police commented, "It is famously said that 'Guinness is good for you,' but that is only the case when it has been bought and paid for."
