Thousands of Sydneysiders experienced commuter chaos on Tuesday morning as train services on the T1 North Shore and Western Line, T9 Northern Line, and the Central Coast and Newcastle Lines were suspended due to emergency repairs on overhead wiring at Chatswood station. The disruptions affected city-bound trains.

Sydney Trains issued alerts stating that repair crews were on-site and working to restore services as quickly as possible. Passengers traveling towards the city were advised to make their own way to the nearest Metro station or take an outbound Hornsby train to interchange at Chatswood for the Metro to complete their journey. Limited bus services were put in place to replace trains between Gordon and Chatswood in both directions.

Services on the T1 North Shore Line from the city were operating at a reduced capacity. Commuters were urged to allow for extra travel time and consider using local buses or making alternative travel arrangements if possible.
