A supermarket manager is being celebrated for his bravery after he rescued a toddler who ran into a busy street in Puebla, Mexico. The incident, captured by store security cameras, shows the young girl darting away from her guardians and onto the road directly into the path of approaching vehicles.

Luis Cruz, the manager at SuperKing El Rey Del Ahorro, was operating a forklift outside the store when he witnessed the child run into traffic. The CCTV footage reveals two adults attempting to chase the girl, with one of them falling as the child continued towards the street.

Cruz immediately abandoned his task and ran into the street as the two cars attempted to brake. He managed to reach the child and, with a swift movement, lunged to grab her, falling backward to shield her with his body as the vehicles came to a stop.

After ensuring the girl's safety, Cruz returned her to her guardians. The supermarket recognized Cruz's heroic actions by naming him Manager of the Year and awarding him 20,000 Mexican pesos, approximately $1,200. The store praised Cruz on Instagram for his courageous intervention in a potentially tragic situation, stating that while no reward can fully compensate for his actions, the sum serves as a token of gratitude.
