One of Spain's leading matadors, David Fandila, was gored through the testicle during a bullfight at the Baeza bullring in Jaén. The incident occurred as Fandila was performing a series of passes, when the bull caught him in the groin area.

Footage of the event shows the bull tossing Fandila onto its horns, causing him to somersault before being attended to by colleagues. Spectators gasped as the matador was seen to glance down at his groin to assess the injury. Fandila was assisted from the ring, clutching the injured area. He was treated in the bullring's infirmary for a "bull horn wound in the scrotum with evisceration of the right testicle."

This is not the first time a Spanish matador has suffered a groin injury in recent months. In May, Alberto Duran, 36, was gored in the same area during a bullfighting tournament. He underwent emergency surgery for a serious testicular injury and was later treated in intensive care for a blood clot in his leg.

Earlier in the year, prominent bullfighter Andres Roca Rey was severely gored in the thigh at the Real Maestranza bullring in Seville. The 29-year-old sustained a 35cm wound with two trajectories, causing significant muscle damage though no major blood vessels were hit. He was in a 'very serious' condition following that incident.
