South African Police Investigate House Party Mass Shooting That Killed 11

Police in South Africa are searching for three assailants who killed at least 11 people and wounded three others in a mass shooting at a house party. The incident occurred Tuesday night in the KwaMakhutha township, approximately 19 miles south of Durban on the country's east coast.
Authorities stated that the victims were gathered for a party when the suspects entered the residence and began shooting. Among those killed was a woman believed to be pregnant. No arrests have been made as of Wednesday.
The motive for the attack remains unknown, according to police. However, officials noted that some individuals present at the gathering were known to police in connection with ongoing criminal investigations. Police have not released further details regarding these investigations.
"Although the motive of the shooting cannot be confirmed yet, feud between rival groupings cannot be ruled out," police said in a statement.
This shooting is the latest in a series of deadly incidents in South Africa. In June, multiple suspects killed 12 people in a Johannesburg neighborhood.
