A Russian soldier killed four people and wounded three others in a shooting rampage at the naval port of Sevastopol in occupied Crimea, according to reports.

The incident occurred in the Khmelnistsky area of the Balaclava district. The alleged assailant, identified by media as 21-year-old Maxim Alistratov from Saratov, is reported to have first fired on fellow soldiers, killing one and injuring another.

He then reportedly turned his weapon on civilians, killing two men and one woman, and wounding three others. Alistratov was subsequently detained. The motive for the attack is under investigation.

This incident follows a period of escalating cross-border strikes between Russia and Ukraine. In Ukraine's Sumy region, Russian aerial bomb strikes overnight killed two children, aged 5 and 10, and an elderly woman. In Kherson, a Russian kamikaze drone targeted a market stall, injuring the seller.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has continued to target civilian infrastructure within Russia. An attack outside Moscow resulted in five deaths and six injuries, according to Russian authorities. Several fires broke out in the Novoselki industrial zone following a drone strike, and a Wildberries warehouse near Krasny Bor sustained damage, injuring one person. Another Wildberries facility in the Tver region was also damaged by drones, though no injuries were reported.

Russia's Defense Ministry stated that its forces struck four cargo vessels used by Ukraine's military and a vehicle parts plant in the Ukrainian port of Chornomorsk. Additionally, two dry cargo ships were reportedly hit in the ports of Mykolaiv and Pivdennyi, and two more vessels carrying weapons and military equipment were struck south of Odesa.
