A small plane experienced an emergency landing on a highway in Fort Myers, Florida, on Saturday afternoon, clipping the back of a pickup truck in the process. The incident occurred around noon near Bayshore Road and I-75.

Footage captured the moment the Cessna 172D Skyhawk touched down on the pavement and continued down the road. The aircraft's wing made contact with the rear of a pickup truck just before landing. Two pilots were on board the plane when they encountered a mechanical issue necessitating the immediate landing.

No injuries were reported at the scene, and the Lee County Sheriff's Office stated that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the incident. Sheriff Carmine Marceno thanked the responding deputies, FDOT Southwest Florida, and Bayshore Fire Rescue for their professionalism and quick response. The sheriff's office confirmed they are working with the FAA to review the circumstances.

Images shared by authorities showed the plane largely undamaged. The FAA is investigating the incident, and no injuries were reported.

This event follows a Learjet crash in West Palm Beach the previous week, which resulted in fatalities. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has been investigating that crash, recovering debris, including portions of an engine and the aircraft's elevator, from the vicinity of the crash site.
