A small plane crashed in the Bahamas on Friday, resulting in multiple fatalities and leading the government to temporarily ground Flamingo Air flights. The incident occurred in North Andros, an area west of the capital city, Nassau.

Bahamian Prime Minister Philip Brave Davis confirmed that police had notified him of casualties and a single survivor. He stated on X, formerly Twitter, that he and his wife are "praying for the families who are now facing unbearable grief. We are also praying for the survivor, whose recovery and care will remain in our thoughts."

The Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Aviation issued a statement indicating that the suspension of Flamingo Air’s air operator certificate is a precautionary safety measure. This action is being taken as officials investigate the cause of the crash. The ministry cited two safety incidents on Friday as the reason for the suspension, without providing further details.
