Six people have been arrested in connection with the death of a 23-year-old woman in north London. Police were called to a residential address on Bollinder Place in Clerkenwell on Thursday morning following concerns for the woman's welfare.
Officers found the woman unresponsive and she was pronounced dead at the scene. The arrested individuals include four women, aged 20, 21, 23, and 26, and two men, aged 21 and 24. All six were taken into custody at the scene and have since been released on bail pending further inquiries.
Authorities are working to identify and inform the woman's next-of-kin, who will receive support from specially trained officers. Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart stated that the incident is tragic and that the thoughts of the police are with the victim's family and friends. He also acknowledged the concern such an event may cause within the local community.
Stewart described the death as an "isolated incident" with no perceived wider risk to the public, but confirmed that officers would maintain a visible presence in the area. Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller indicated that the investigation is progressing rapidly, with detectives working to establish the timeline of events leading up to the woman's death. Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
