Singapore Airlines Named World's Best Airline in 2026 Skytrax Awards
The carrier received the top honor for its dedication to customer service, gourmet meals, and entertainment systems, with Qatar Airways and Cathay Pacific rounding out the top three.
Singapore Airlines (SIA) has been recognized as the World's Best Airline for 2026 by the Skytrax World Airline Awards. The airline was praised for its commitment to customer service, high-quality in-flight meals across all classes, and advanced entertainment systems.
This marks the sixth time SIA has received this prestigious award. In addition to the overall best airline title, the carrier was also named Best Airline in Asia, World's Best Economy Class, and World's Best Economy Class Onboard Catering.
Goh Choon Phong, chief executive officer of Singapore Airlines, expressed gratitude for customer support and reaffirmed the airline's dedication to providing an exceptional travel experience. "This award is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our people, who continually strive to uphold SIA's renowned standards for service and operational excellence," he stated.
Qatar Airways secured the second position and received multiple accolades, including World's Best Business Class, Best Airline in the Middle East, World's Best Business Class Lounge, and World's Best Onboard Wi-Fi. The airline was commended for its comfort, cuisine, entertainment, service, and modern fleet.
Cathay Pacific Airways, based in Hong Kong, ranked third overall. Scoot, SIA's low-cost subsidiary, was honored as the Best Long-Haul Low-Cost Airline for the sixth consecutive year. Together, SIA and Scoot operate a combined fleet of over 180 aircraft, serving more than 110 destinations.
Leslie Thng, chief executive officer of Scoot, highlighted the airline's commitment to providing comfortable and reliable travel experiences. Edward Plaisted, Chief Executive Officer of Skytrax, congratulated the Singapore Airlines Group on their achievements, noting the high level of product and service excellence demonstrated.
The Skytrax World Airline Awards are based on a global survey of over 24.8 million travelers who rated more than 300 airlines between September 2025 and August 2026.
