A Singapore Airlines flight narrowly avoided disaster on Saturday when it was forced to abandon its landing attempt at Perth Airport due to severe winds. Dramatic footage captured the Airbus A350-900 swaying as it approached the runway under cloudy skies.

Just moments before touchdown, the aircraft suddenly tilted to the right, with one wing coming alarmingly close to the ground. The pilots initiated a go-around, a standard safety procedure, ascending back into the sky.

Data from Flightradar24 indicated the plane had descended to as low as 75 feet before climbing to approximately 4,050 feet. The aircraft then began a second approach and landed safely at 12:30 p.m. local time.

Chris Perry, who shared the video on social media, stated that his sister's flight "almost crashes on landing" due to "high winds at Perth." He added that the second landing attempt was successful.

A Singapore Airlines spokesperson confirmed that flight SQ213, traveling from Singapore to Perth on October 31, encountered strong winds during its approach. "As a result, the pilots decided to conduct a go-around," the spokesperson said. "The Airbus A350-900 aircraft landed safely at 12:30hrs (local time) and taxied to the gate. The safety of our customers and crew is SIA’s top priority."

Weather reports indicated wind speeds of 32 km/h at the time of the attempted landing.
