Sightseer Falls to Her Death From 65-Foot Indonesian Waterfall
The 25-year-old was filmed by friends as she slipped and was swept over the edge of Robo Waterfall.
A 25-year-old woman died after slipping and falling from a 65-foot waterfall in Indonesia, an incident captured on video by her friends. Windy Rahma Putri was bathing in the waters above Robo Waterfall in Harau, a protected nature preserve in West Sumatra, on Thursday afternoon when she was overcome by swift currents and plunged down the steep drop.
Video footage shows Putri on her back on a rock when she lost her footing. She is seen attempting to grab onto a friend in a desperate effort as she slipped and fell over the edge. Officials stated that the victim slipped and is suspected to have drowned after being swept away.
More than 100 first responders participated in a search and recovery operation. Putri's body was found at the bottom of the ravine the following day. Authorities used a rope system to transport her body back up the cliffside to her family.
