Shark Rescue Underway in South Korean Canal Amidst Crowds
A 9-foot-long shark, nicknamed Bukangi, is the subject of a third rescue attempt after becoming stranded in a canal in Busan, South Korea.

A remarkable rescue effort is currently unfolding in the southeastern South Korean city of Busan, where large crowds have gathered to witness the attempt to save a shark stranded in a canal. The shark, a female measuring approximately 9 feet 10 inches (3 meters) and affectionately nicknamed Bukangi, was first observed in the waterway last month.
Officials have now launched a third operation to guide Bukangi back to the open sea. The unusual presence of the shark in the canal is speculated to be a result of unusually warm water temperatures and an abundance of fish in the area, which may have lured her into the waterway.
The BBC's Seoul correspondent Jake Kwon is on the scene in Busan, documenting the latest efforts to free the shark and return her to her natural habitat.
