Ryanair Flight Descends into Chaos as Passenger Allegedly Attacks Others

A Ryanair flight bound for Ibiza experienced significant disruption when a passenger allegedly became violent and attacked other travelers after ignoring the seatbelt sign as the plane prepared for landing. The incident, which occurred on October 5, caused the flight to be rerouted and delayed its descent.

According to witness Harry Watson, a 28-year-old holidaymaker, the altercation began when a male passenger stood up to use the restroom despite the illuminated seatbelt sign. Passengers reportedly began shouting at the man upon his return to his seat, escalating into a physical confrontation. "The lad didn't like it, so he got angry and violent towards the guy, which caused a fight to break out," Watson recounted. "This happened multiple times. The lad started attacking the other passengers and had to be restrained a lot."

Footage from the incident shows a female cabin crew member attempting to de-escalate the situation, heard screaming at a man to 'sit down.' The brawl continued intermittently, preventing the pilots from initiating their final approach to Ibiza Airport. "Everyone got very annoyed after a while, especially because the plane couldn't land and had to go back in the air again," Watson added.

Upon landing at Ibiza Airport, Spanish police were waiting and arrested a man, escorting him off the plane in handcuffs. A spokesperson for Ryanair stated, "Crew on this flight from London Stansted to Ibiza (5 Oct) called ahead for police assistance after a passenger became disruptive onboard." The airline reiterated its "strict zero tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct" and commitment to ensuring a "respectful and stress-free environment" for all travelers.
