Robot Seized in Germany After Alleged Assault on Teenager

Police in Cologne, Germany, have seized a robot and launched a criminal investigation following allegations that it sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl. The incident, which reportedly occurred outside a fast-food restaurant on Sunday, is believed to have been livestreamed on social media.

The automaton, described as 1.2 meters tall with a red and gold exterior, allegedly approached the teenager from behind and touched her buttocks while making thrusting motions. The alleged assault took place as the girl was with friends.

Authorities were alerted and located the robot hidden in the trunk of a Volkswagen car. Police have confiscated the robot along with two mobile phones belonging to the suspects. Investigators are examining how the robot was controlled at the time of the incident and whether its movements were deliberately directed.

The robot's 16-year-old owner and a 19-year-old companion are reportedly being investigated. Police are considering charges of sexual harassment. The owner is said to have placed the robot in the car trunk after the incident.

Social media footage reportedly shows two men walking behind the robot as it approached the group of girls. The criminal investigation department is focused on determining the nature of the robot's control and function during the alleged assault.
