A road rage incident in South Brisbane took an unexpected turn when a mystery man attempted to steal a ute while its driver was engaged in a confrontation with a couple. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening.
The driver of the ute reportedly swore at a couple who were filming a queue of cars from a pavement. He then parked his vehicle in a side street and exited his car, approaching the pair and demanding to know why they were recording him.
During the confrontation, a stranger was observed rolling a trolley down the street. The stranger noticed the driver's abandoned ute, paused, and then jumped into the driver's seat. A person recording the events alerted the ute driver, saying, "Someone just took your car, bro."
Footage shows the ute driver sprinting back to his vehicle. He then hauled the intruder out of the car, got into his ute, and drove away from the scene.
Queensland Police confirmed to the Daily Mail that they received reports of a traffic disturbance at the intersection of Cordelia Street and Melbourne Street in South Brisbane around 6 p.m. on August 5. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
