Real Estate Agent Mauled by Dogs in Brisbane Park, Police Discover Decomposing Body Nearby

High-flying real estate agent Ajay Malik has been identified as the victim of a dog attack in Brisbane that left him with severe injuries. Malik was jogging in 7th Brigade Park in Chermside when he was mauled by two dogs, sustaining significant injuries to his face and arms. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Police investigating the incident made a separate discovery of a man's decomposing body a short distance away. Authorities have stated that the two incidents, occurring in close proximity, are not believed to be connected.

The two dogs involved in the attack on Malik have been taken into the custody of Brisbane City Council. The council reported that the animals, described as a bulldog-American Staffordshire terrier cross and a bulldog-boxer cross, were registered to the same address and had no prior history of being declared dangerous.

Upon encountering the dogs, Queensland Police reported an immediate and serious safety risk. Despite initial attempts to subdue the animals, officers were compelled to discharge their service firearms due to the danger posed to officers and the public. The use of force by police will be reviewed in accordance with service policy.

Brisbane City Council has confirmed that destruction orders will be issued for both dogs.
