Queen Camilla's Doctor Allegedly Murdered by Husband During Children's Sleepover
Dr. Hannah Cain was found dead in her home, authorities said, with her husband now charged with her murder.
A doctor who served members of the UK royal family was allegedly murdered by her husband while hosting a sleepover for her three children.
Dr. Hannah Cain, 45, was found at her home in Dersingham, Norfolk, on Sunday with a blunt force injury to the head and possible neck compression, prosecutors stated. Her husband, Mark Cain, also 45, has been charged with her murder.
Children were present in the home at the time of the incident, according to Jackie Hanlon, a prosecutor, who spoke at Norwich Magistrates Court. King Charles and Queen Camilla have been informed of Dr. Cain’s death.
Dr. Cain worked at the Grimston Medical Centre, which serves the royal family, located about a mile from the royal family's Sandringham Estate. Neighbors described her as a "lovely human being with three gorgeous children." The area where she lived is known for being peaceful, with one resident telling The Sun that such violent crimes are rare in Dersingham.
Mark Cain, who is the director of an energy company, has not entered a plea. Authorities have not yet released a motive for the alleged crime. A friend of Dr. Cain told The Sun that she had seemed "stressed" and "distracted" in the days leading up to her death, which was described as out of character.
Mark Cain is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in court again on Thursday.
