Britain's Princess Eugenie has named her first daughter Adelaide Elizabeth Annina, she announced Monday. The infant girl, who was born Aug. 3 in Lisbon, Portugal, is the third child of Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank.

“Two weeks ago today we welcomed our girl to the world," Eugenie stated on Instagram. "And since then we’ve had the most special, cosy and love-filled time.”

Adelaide Elizabeth Annina, who weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces (3 kilograms) at birth, has two older brothers, August, 5, and Ernest, 3. Princess Eugenie is the younger daughter of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, and a niece of King Charles III.

The infant's name honors three individuals the couple loves and admires, past and present. It also reflects her English and Portuguese heritage. The name Adelaide was inspired by Queen Adelaide (1792-1849), wife of King William IV, and also by Maria Adelaide of Portugal. Annina is the name of a close friend of the couple.
