Princess Astrid of Norway, an older sister of the late King Harald, died on Friday at the age of 94, the royal palace announced in a statement. Her passing came just two days after she attended the funeral of her brother, King Harald, who died last month at age 89.

King Harald had reigned for more than 35 years. The palace statement noted that "Throughout her long life, Princess Astrid represented the Royal House in a warm and dutiful manner."

Princess Astrid made her last public appearance at King Harald's funeral on Wednesday. She was a prominent member of the Norwegian royal family, often participating in official events and representing the monarchy. Her death marks the end of an era for the Norwegian royals, following the recent loss of their King.
