Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly taken up residence on a friend’s estate in the Cotswolds, England, according to a recent report.

The couple and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have been staying at the home of a wealthy businessman since their return to the UK in August. An insider told the Daily Mail that the family initially resided in the main house before moving to a separate property on the estate.

This move echoes their 2020 decision to step back from royal duties and relocate to the United States, when they initially lived in Tyler Perry's mansion in Los Angeles before purchasing their Montecito home. The Sussexes are reportedly still maintaining their $14.5 million mansion in Montecito, California.

Harry's friendship with the estate owner stems from their shared support for military charities. The friend is reportedly amenable to the Sussex family continuing their stay on his property.

During their time in the UK in August, the couple was reportedly house hunting for a residence closer to King Charles III's Highgrove House in the Cotswolds. Royal commentator Tom Sykes noted that Harry knows the area well.

The recent reports of their UK living situation come as Meghan Markle's father, Thomas Markle Sr., is reportedly under investigation for child pornography allegations. A close friend of Meghan's told Hello! Magazine that she is "devastated" by the allegations, particularly given she has young children herself. In a statement to Page Six, Meghan expressed that she was "deeply distressed" by the news and reiterated that any distance from her father was to protect her children.
