Priest Killed, Four Injured in Knife Attack at Polish Abbey

A priest was killed and four other people were injured in a knife attack on the grounds of a Catholic abbey in Jarosław, a town in southeastern Poland. A 31-year-old Ukrainian man was arrested following the stabbings.

Polish authorities are investigating the motives behind the attack, which occurred on Thursday morning. Reports from Polish media indicated that the assailant first injured a priest in a nearby cafe before entering the abbey and stabbing four more individuals. Police confirmed that one woman and four men were stabbed.

The Ukrainian embassy in Poland condemned the attack, issuing a statement that stressed the importance of mutual support, respect for human life, and avoiding the escalation of pain into hatred or further violence. The embassy affirmed that criminal responsibility should be based solely on the law.
