British Transport Police (BTP) have released CCTV images of a man they wish to identify following a rape that occurred outside Guildford railway station. The incident involved a 17-year-old girl who was attacked on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

According to investigators, the attack began around 7:00 PM as the teenager and her friends were walking towards the station. A man approached the group and initially attempted to persuade the girl to board a train with him. When she refused, he made explicit sexual demands, which she also rejected.

The group moved outside the station, where the suspect managed to isolate the 17-year-old from her friends. The assault then took place before the victim was able to break free and return to her friends.

Detective Sergeant Nick Thompson of BTP condemned the attack, stating that the perpetrator deliberately targeted a vulnerable victim. "The person responsible for this horrific crime targeted a vulnerable victim who was just 17 years old at the time of the attack," DS Thompson said. "Specialist officers continue to support her and her family as we follow all lines of enquiry."

Police are urging anyone who recognizes the man in the CCTV images, or who was in the vicinity of Guildford station on the evening of January 19, to come forward.
