A pilot survived a dramatic crash in rural Argentina when his crop-spraying aircraft nosedived into a field on Thursday. Video footage captured the aircraft gliding for a few seconds before impacting the ground in Perdices, a town in the Entre Ríos Province.

The plane broke apart as it slid across the field following the impact. Volunteer firefighters from Ceibas, located approximately 22 miles away, arrived at the scene and managed to rescue the pilot alive.

He was transported to the Hospital Centenario in Gualeguaychú for treatment. Officials stated that the pilot, a resident of Avellaneda in Greater Buenos Aires, was the sole occupant of the aircraft and the only person injured in the incident. The condition of the pilot was not immediately available.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, though initial indications suggest a possible mechanical failure.
