One person was killed and five others were injured in a shooting incident that occurred overnight in northern Switzerland, authorities announced. The Aargau Cantonal Police confirmed that a manhunt for the perpetrator is currently underway, stating that possible motives and the exact circumstances of the crime remain unclear.

The shooting took place near a horse racing track in Schachen, Aarau, a town located approximately 29 miles west of Zurich. Reports indicate that a rave was scheduled to occur in the area into the early hours of Sunday.

Law enforcement has cordoned off the area surrounding the racing track, which includes the town's swimming pool and sports field. The public has been urged to avoid the vicinity. A significant police presence has also been deployed beyond Aarau as a precautionary measure.
