Norway concluded 13 days of national mourning with the funeral of King Harald V in Oslo. Tributes were paid at a private ceremony at Akershus Fortress, where the king was laid to rest in the crypt of the Palace Chapel.

A public service was held at Oslo Cathedral prior to the interment. Flags were raised from half-mast to signify the end of the mourning period.

Tens of thousands of people lined the streets of the capital to pay their respects. From the balcony of the Royal Palace, the new King Haakon VIII, Harald's son, and his family waved to the gathered crowds.

King Harald V died in August, concluding a reign of 35 years on the Norwegian throne.
