Northern Ireland Electricity Restored After Storm Boelo

Electricity has been restored to all properties across Northern Ireland following Storm Boelo, Northern Ireland Electricity Networks (NIE) announced. The storm, which brought wind gusts of almost 80mph over the weekend, had caused widespread power outages.

At its peak, approximately 12,500 properties were without power due to the storm. While some minor faults occurred overnight, they are not believed to be related to Storm Boelo.

Weather Warnings Remain

The Met Office has issued new yellow weather warnings for Counties Down and Antrim, in effect from Monday evening until early Tuesday morning. These warnings indicate a continued risk of adverse weather conditions.

Meanwhile, in the Republic of Ireland, ESB reported that a number of homes, farms, and businesses were still without power on Monday morning. Teams were actively working to restore electricity to these remaining affected locations, with around 5,000 properties impacted as of Sunday evening.

Flights and ferries were also cancelled over the weekend due to the severe weather conditions associated with Storm Boelo.
