Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell, a 44-year-old physical therapist from North Carolina, has gone missing in Grenada, her husband confirmed. Cailen Waddell posted a plea on Facebook for information leading to his wife's safe return.

Waddell was last seen on Wednesday evening around 8 p.m. on Grand Anse Beach in the capital city of St. George’s, according to the Royal Grenada Police Force. Authorities have initiated a missing persons search and are appealing to fishermen, boat operators, and residents along the southern coastline for any sightings.

Police described Waddell as having short blonde hair and a medium build. A missing persons notice noted she was pictured with short pink hair. While the official press release stated she is 5-foot-5, reports indicate she may be closer to 5 feet tall.

Cailen Waddell, who works as an operations manager for the parks, recreation, and cultural resources department in Cary, North Carolina, expressed his desperation. "I expect nothing less than Liz’s safe return – so please send your love, light, thoughts, and prayers our way," he wrote on Facebook, adding he was en route to Grenada to assist in the search.

Elizabeth Waddell graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and founded Art of Movement Physical Therapy in Cary. Her professional background includes a decade of experience in physical therapy combined with over two decades in fitness and dance. Her interests include CrossFit, hiking, travel, and spending time with her husband.

Waddell's social media shows photos from past international trips, including to Mexico and Thailand. In a May 22 post, she provided a health update detailing her treatment for symptoms related to long-COVID, post-viral illness, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, attributing the root cause to endometriosis and perimenopause. She had reported improving health and a gradual return to her work schedule prior to her trip.

Grenadian officials have not released further details regarding her disappearance.
