Newborn Baby's Body Found on Wales Shoreline; Police Seek Mother
Authorities are appealing for an 'extremely vulnerable' mother to come forward after the remains of a newborn were discovered near Siliwen Road in north Wales.
The body of a newborn baby was discovered along a shoreline in north Wales, prompting an appeal from police for the infant's mother to come forward. North Wales Police stated they are searching for the mother, who may be "extremely vulnerable."
A member of the public found the remains on the Menai Strait shoreline near Siliwen Road on Sunday shortly before 5:00 PM BST. Officials from the Betsi Cadwaladr health board, including Fiona Giraud, Director of Midwifery and Women's Services, have directly addressed the mother.
"I want you to know that our immediate concern is for your health, safety and wellbeing. We recognise that you may be feeling frightened, overwhelmed or unsure about what to do next," Giraud said in a statement. Authorities are focused on the mother's immediate health and safety.
