New details have emerged surrounding the tragic death of Erin Benavides, the woman once accused of having an affair with Eva Longoria’s ex-husband Tony Parker. According to a police report obtained by Page Six, investigators documented three firearms and multiple bullets at Benavides’ Port Aransas, Texas, home following her death on Oct. 14.
Authorities received a call at approximately 7:08 p.m. from someone reporting that a woman had threatened to take her own life. Police arrived at Benavides’ residence after a friend of her husband received an alarming text message from her. Officers forced their way inside and discovered Benavides with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Port Aransas Police Department confirmed that officers responded to a welfare concern at approximately 7:34 p.m. on Oct. 14. In a statement, the department said, “Upon arrival, officers located a deceased female inside the residence with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and assumed responsibility for determining the official cause and manner of death. Based on the preliminary investigation, no foul play is suspected.” The statement added that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Benavides, a former prosecutor, made headlines in 2010 after she was accused of having an emotional affair with Parker, who was married to actress Eva Longoria at the time. Benavides, who was married to Parker’s former San Antonio Spurs teammate Brent Barry, denied the allegations.
Longoria filed for divorce from Parker in November 2010, and Benavides and Barry also ended their marriage. Benavides later pursued a career in law, serving as a prosecutor and working with organizations dedicated to helping children. She resigned from her position with the 38th Judicial District in August 2026, two months before her death.
