The Nepali army has been engaged in rescue operations to extract workers trapped inside a hydropower project tunnel in Rasuwa. Footage released by the prime minister's office documented soldiers carrying survivors and traversing thick mud to reach others.

As of Thursday, officials estimated that more than 100 people were trapped in the same tunnel. These efforts are part of the broader national response to devastating floods that have impacted the country. Local police reported on Friday that the death toll from the floods had reached 475.
