Model Found Dead in Ex-Boyfriend’s Car After Texting Mother About His Arrival

Brazilian model Larissa Brito, 25, was found stabbed to death in her ex-boyfriend’s car on Monday in Brignoles, France. Her body was discovered hidden under plastic bags on the back seat during a random customs check on a motorway.

Her 29-year-old ex-boyfriend, identified only as Mathieu, was arrested following the discovery. A murder investigation has been launched into Brito's death.

Brito had moved to France three years prior and had been in a five-month relationship with Mathieu. She reportedly ended the relationship after learning of his alleged involvement in organized crime and his prior convictions, including for drug offenses. According to reports, Mathieu then began stalking Brito, prompting her to move to Nice.

On the day of her death, Brito sent a text message to her mother, Liane Brito Nogueira, stating, “Mathieu is here.” Her mother attempted to contact Mathieu, who claimed Brito was asleep. When Liane threatened to call the police, Mathieu reportedly blocked her number.

“By then he had already killed my daughter,” Liane told local media. She also claimed that Mathieu attempted to cover up the crime scene, cleaning her daughter’s apartment to remove fingerprints.

Brito had been reported missing by a friend shortly before her body was found. Her family has initiated a fundraiser to facilitate the return of her body to Brazil.

An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted next week.
