Mass Shooting at South African House Party Leaves 11 Dead

Eleven people were killed and three others wounded in a mass shooting at a house party in South Africa, police confirmed Wednesday. The incident occurred Tuesday night in the KwaMakhutha township, located approximately 19 miles south of Durban.
According to a police statement, three assailants entered the residence where the party was taking place and began shooting. Among the deceased was a woman believed to be pregnant.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the suspects, but no arrests have been made as of Wednesday. The motive behind the shooting remains unknown. Police noted that some individuals present at the gathering were known to them in connection with ongoing investigations into criminal activity, though specifics were not disclosed.
"Although the motive of the shooting cannot be confirmed yet, feud between rival groupings cannot be ruled out," police said in their statement.
This incident marks the latest in a series of mass shootings that have occurred in South Africa in recent years. In June, a separate shooting in Johannesburg resulted in the deaths of 12 people and wounded nine others.
