A man was observed traveling in the open boot of a moving car with the vehicle's rear hatch raised to stay cool during a recent heatwave in Britain. The incident occurred on Wednesday, June 3, when temperatures in the south of England reached 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit).
Roksana Jasitczak, a driver on the M25 motorway, captured footage of the man lying down in the back of a 56-plate VW Golf. The car's windows were also reportedly open. The vehicle was traveling near Junction 19, close to Watford, on the 70 mph road.
Ms. Jasitczak stated that she noticed the open boot and realized a person was lying inside. "Some small rubbish was falling out of the car too but nothing major," she added.
Other road users have had mixed reactions to the man's unconventional cooling method. Some found it amusing, with one commenter noting "Maximum airflow," while others expressed concern. One person wrote, "If another vehicle ran into the rear of his car, he'd be feeling more than hot."
