Man in His 80s Dies in North London House Fire
Police are investigating the cause of a blaze that destroyed the first floor and part of the roof of a terraced house.
A man in his 80s has died following a house fire in north London, authorities confirmed. The blaze, which occurred on Saturday night in Granville Road, Wood Green, caused extensive damage, destroying the entire first floor and half of the roof of the two-storey terraced house.
Firefighters were called to the scene at 10:15 p.m. and managed to bring the fire under control by 11:30 p.m. A woman successfully escaped the burning building prior to the arrival of emergency services. The London Ambulance Service was also present.
Regrettably, a man in his 80s was pronounced dead at the scene. Police stated that his next of kin have been notified and are receiving support. Metropolitan Police officers attended to assist the London Fire Brigade and are now working with fire investigators to determine the circumstances surrounding the fire. The cause of the blaze remains unknown at this time.
