Police are investigating an incident in Brisbane's Sunnybank Hills where a man, naked except for a balaclava, allegedly exposed himself to two women. The women, both 20, were reportedly sitting on a kerb near Pinelands Road about 1 a.m. on Saturday when the man emerged from nearby bushes.
According to one of the women, the man was "aggressively" masturbating and uttering obscenities. The pair screamed and ran across the road, with the man reportedly continuing to expose himself while staring at them. They managed to call the police, who arrived approximately ten minutes later. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the man.
One of the victims was able to capture blurry images of the man, who appeared to have tattoos on his forearm and bicep. The incident lasted about ten minutes before police arrived. The women noted that the encounter occurred in a well-lit area they believed to be safe.
Locals have suggested this may not be an isolated event. One Reddit user commented that their partner, also in her 20s, had a similar encounter months earlier near a school in Sunnybank involving a man believed to be the same offender. In that instance, the man reportedly called out to her while masturbating from the other side of a school fence.
Queensland Police confirmed they are investigating a report of indecent exposure that occurred on Pinelands Road on Saturday, July 4. They are appealing for witnesses or anyone with further information to come forward. Businesses in the immediate vicinity were closed at the time and were unaware of the incident.
