A man was observed driving along Britain's M25 motorway with the boot of his car wide open as a measure to stay cool during a recent heatwave. The incident occurred on Wednesday, June 3, when temperatures in southern England reached 35 degrees Celsius.
Roksana Jasitczak, a driver who witnessed the scene, reported that all the windows of the 56-plate VW Golf were also open. She observed the man lying in the back of the vehicle, resting his head on a black bag, as traffic passed by on the 70mph road near Watford, Junction 19. Ms. Jasitczak noted that some small items were falling out of the car, but she described the situation as not major.
The man's unconventional method of cooling down has drawn mixed reactions from other road users. Some found it amusing, with one commenter remarking, "Ha ha, we saw him too today," and another adding, "Maximum airflow."
However, others expressed concern for safety. "If another vehicle ran into the rear of his car, he'd be feeling more than hot," one user commented, highlighting the potential risks associated with the open boot.
