A man has died from head injuries sustained in an alleged one-punch attack in a Brisbane park. Police were called to the inner-Brisbane suburb of West End shortly after midnight on Sunday, following reports of a fight between two men who were not known to each other.

Authorities allege a 27-year-old man from Yeronga struck a 66-year-old man, causing him to fall and hit his head. The older man was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The 27-year-old suspect was arrested by detectives in Fortitude Valley on Sunday evening.

He has been charged with one count of unlawful striking causing death and two counts of possessing dangerous drugs. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
