A man died after being crushed by a cleaning truck while sleeping on L'Arrabassada Beach in Tarragona, Spain. The incident occurred early Sunday morning, and the victim was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to a hospital. He succumbed to his injuries the following day.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident. The driver of the cleaning vehicle told authorities that he did not see the man until after the accident. Investigators believe the victim may have been less visible due to sleeping under a blanket.

The victim's nationality has not yet been released. L'Arrabassada Beach is described as a long, wide family beach located north of Tarragona's seafront and is popular with tourists.

This incident follows a similar tragedy in December 2024, when a German tourist died on a Gran Canaria beach after being run over by a delivery vehicle. The 64-year-old woman was sunbathing on Playa del Ingles when the 4x4 pick-up ran over her. The driver, who initially failed to stop, later told police he was unaware he had hit anyone. The accident occurred near the Maspalomas Dunes, close to a beach kiosk used for deliveries.
