Man Dies After Beach Sunlounger Dispute in Greece

An 82-year-old man has died after a dispute over a sunlounger on a beach in Greece escalated into a violent fight. The incident occurred at Vouliagmeni beach, near Athens.

Witnesses reported that the disagreement over the use of loungers led to a physical confrontation, which then involved other individuals. One eyewitness described the scene as chaotic, with screaming audible from across the beach. Another witness indicated the victim may have been reserving the lounger for people who had yet to arrive, and this was the catalyst for the initial argument.

During the altercation, the 82-year-old collapsed. Emergency services administered CPR and used a defibrillator before transporting him to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. A 76-year-old man involved in the fight was reportedly arrested. A 21-year-old woman who was with him was also detained but subsequently released; witnesses described her as having a bloodied and swollen face.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the physical altercation and the precise cause of the man's death.
