Bob Brown, from Saltash, England, has completed a 2,800-mile journey across Australia on a non-electric scooter, traveling from Perth to Sydney. The endeavor aimed to raise awareness about the importance of outdoor adventure for young people.

Brown, who has a history of long-distance challenges in Australia, finished the journey in 31 days, four hours, and 10 minutes. He hopes to have his achievement officially recognized by Guinness World Records. The route spanned the width of the continent, a significant feat on a manually powered scooter.

This is not Brown's first notable Australian challenge. In 2001, he became the first Briton to run across the country, covering approximately 3,000 miles in 60 days. Three years later, he cycled the same route, becoming the first person to both run and cycle across Australia. He stated his motivation for these challenges includes encouraging younger generations to disengage from screens and embrace adventure.

Despite the successful completion, Brown encountered difficulties during the trip. He reported a minor incident on the fifth day when a passing vehicle clipped his wing mirror, causing him to skid onto the hard shoulder, though he emerged largely unharmed. A more serious incident occurred on the final day, with just 20 kilometers remaining, when his handlebars broke while descending a steep hill, resulting in a fall. He sustained injuries but continued to the finish line.

Brown aimed to raise £5,000 for three charities: MacMillan Cancer Support, St Luke's Hospice, and Children's Hospice South West. He has submitted his journey's documentation to Guinness for verification.
