A man has been charged with murder following a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a woman in Biggera Waters, on the Gold Coast. Police responded to a call at a Loder Street property at approximately 8 p.m. on Sunday, where they discovered a 23-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities subsequently arrested and charged a 23-year-old man with one count of murder, specified as domestic violence related, and unlawful possession of weapons used in the commission of an indictable offense, also under domestic violence provisions. The accused is scheduled to appear before Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
A spokesperson for Queensland Police stated that no other individuals were harmed and there was no ongoing threat to the public. Investigations into the incident are continuing.
