Police have arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of murder after a 24-year-old woman was discovered deceased at a residence in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. Authorities were alerted to the address at Oakwell Court, Longton, around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday.
The victim has been identified as Sarah-Louise Pennington. The suspect, also from Stoke-on-Trent, is currently in police custody, with authorities granted additional time to question him. Staffordshire Police are providing support to Ms. Pennington's family as the investigation proceeds.
A cordon remains in place at the property as officers continue their inquiries. Detective Inspector Kirsty Oldfield stated that police are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the suspected murder and that their investigation is progressing rapidly. House-to-house inquiries are underway, and visible police reassurance is being provided in the area.
