Authorities have arrested a 43-year-old Swiss man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday at a techno rave in Aarau, Switzerland. The incident resulted in the death of a 22-year-old Italian woman and left several others injured.
The shooting took place at a horse racing track in Aarau, a town located approximately 46 kilometers west of Zurich. Police launched a manhunt for the suspect, who was apprehended shortly before 1 a.m. on Monday, which was 11 p.m. GMT on Sunday.
"The investigation into the exact sequence of events, the background, and the possible motive is currently underway," police said in a statement. "At this time, it is assumed that the perpetrator acted alone."
